My Story

Hello, I’m Tracy.

My path to becoming an artist has been anything but a straight line. I grew up in sunny San Diego, traveled the world when I was younger, and have called many different corners of the country home. Along the way, I was a classical musician, an educator, and a homeschooling mom to four children. These experiences have all shaped the way I see, learn, and create.

These days, I'm joyfully living in the beautiful countryside of southeastern Pennsylvania with my husband, Geoff, our daughter Emily, and our English bulldog, Huxley, who provides companionship, creative supervision, and a generous amount of slobber.

My artwork is colorful, whimsical, and thoughtfully imperfect, with roots in my deep love of folk art and the beauty of things handmade. I’m endlessly inspired by nature, travel, old objects, beautiful patterns, and the small details of ordinary life that are so easy to overlook. I work in watercolor and gouache as well as digitally on my iPad, and I love creating pieces that retain warmth and personality.

When I’m not making art, I’m usually learning something new, wandering through a museum, reading a good book, drinking coffee, or adding another teapot to a collection that probably doesn’t need one. I have a soft spot for artisan-made things, artistic imperfections, Broadway musicals, Hallmark movies, happy endings, slow mornings, and, somewhat inconveniently, staying up much too late.

At the heart of my work is a simple idea: to create art that brings a little happiness to everyday life. 
While I take my business seriously, I try not to take myself too seriously. I value kindness, humor, hard work, and good communication.
